Toyota Pickup Truck Recall

Toyota pickup truck recall affects more than 3,700 vehicles.

Toyota recall affects certain pickup trucks that are of 2013 and 2014 model years. Affected are about 3,800 vehicles that were manufactured between July 1, 2013 and October 11, 2013.

The Problem

The vehicles mentioned above are being recalled due to faulty valve springs. According to the report made by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), some of the pickup trucks may suffer from an engine flaw that could cause the vehicles to stall.

The thing is that the valve springs in the affected cars may undergo wear and tear over time. This may result in broken springs. If the springs are broken while the vehicle is being driven, an accident may take place.

The Fix

The manufacturer will start sending Toyota recall notification letters to the owners this month. Dealers will inspect the vehicles and replace the defective valve springs free of charge. If you are a Toyota owner, you can contact the automaker at 800-331-4331 for more information.
