Ford has issued a new recall. Lincoln MKZ hybrids are affected.

Lincoln MKZ recall affects about 7,100 vehicles in the US and about 170 in Canada. The affected cars are of 2013 and 2014 model years.  The vehicles under recall were manufactured between 26th of April, 2012, and 24th of September, 2013.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Lincoln MKZ hybrids have got a transmission problem. The thing is that the affected vehicles have got faulty transmission sensors. The defect may cause malfunctions in the vehicle, more concretely, the car may act as if it is neutral position instead of the parking position. The defect may result in serious crashes and rollovers.

The automaker has not yet informed the owners about the vehicle recall schedule. But the affected owners may contact Ford at 800 521 4140 for more information about the Lincoln MKZ recall.
