Nearly 3,8 million combination and convertible child-safety seats are included in a child seat recall announced by Graco. The seats are all of 2009-2013 model years. The affected units include Cozy Cline, Comfort Sport, My Ride 70, My Ride 65, My Ride with Safety Surround, Size 4 Me 70, Smartseat, Nautilus, Nautilus Elite, Argos 70, and Classic Ride 50 models.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reports that the defect of the aforementioned child seats is that the buckle may be difficult to unlatch or it may just stuck in the latched position. AS a result of this, the one will not be able to take the child out of the seat. This problem may pose serious hazards during a crash or an accident.
The NHTSA has received about 80 consumer complaints from different drivers. Now, the child seat making company will replace the defective buckles with new ones. The schedule for notifying the consumers has not yet been announced about, but the manufacturer will do it soon. Those owning Graco seats can contact the automaker to learn more about the child seat recall. The contact number is 800-345-4109.
