Owners of model-year 2014 911 GT3 Porsche sports coupes have been informed via emails and phone calls about the Porsche engine fire risk issue. The thing is that there may be a problem with the engines resulting in an engine fire, according to the automaker. The manufacturer is now investigating the issue to find out whether it is necessary to start a recall or not. There is cooperation with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) regarding the issue, as well.
Nearly 785 vehicles are already affected by the engine fire issue worldwide. The dealers have received a notice to stop the sales of the aforementioned vehicles until the investigation is over.
It should be noted that two vehicle have already been damaged in Europe due to the defect, though the automaker has said in a statement that no injuries or accidents have been caused by the problem.
