2014 Infiniti Q50 Recall

Infiniti Q50 recall affects about 23 vehicles in the US.

Infiniti Q50 recall affects 23 model-year 2014 Infiniti Q50 vehicles, according to a report made by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The aforementioned vehicles are equipped with a Direct Adaptive Steering system. This new steer-by-wire system is available in passenger cars in the US. It is a unique system that has been created to substitute the mechanical components of the vehicle.

Electronic systems may have both advantages and disadvantages. The thing is that the electronic systems may fail like any other system resulting in fatalities. Thus, Infiniti is recalling its Q50 sedans because a small number of them may have a defective Direct Adaptive Steering system.

The thing is that if the engine compartment freezes to a certain temperature, the electric steering system may become disabled by the power steering software. If this happens, the vehicle may undergo loss of steering resulting in a crash.

The automaker advises the owners not to drive their cars until they are repaired. The automaker has already notified the affected owners about the recall. If you want to get more information about the Infiniti Q50 recall, you can contact Infiniti at 1-800-662-6200.
