2013 Dodge Dart Recall

Chrysler performs a Dodge Dart recall. More than 300 cars are affected.

Nearly 400 vehicles are affected by the Dodge Dart recall. Affected are model year 2013 Dodge Dart sedans that were manufactured between May 10 and August 24, this year.  The affected vehicles are equipped with the so called “Mopar 13” package.

According to the report made by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the front seat mounted side airbags of the affected cars all seem to be defective. The installation of the airbags has not been carried out properly during the manufacturing process.

As a result of the defect, the airbags may fail to deploy, thus creating a risk of a car crash. If an airbag fails to deploy, it cannot protect the driver or the passengers from injuries.

If you are a 2013 Dart owner, you may contact Chrysler at 800-853-1403 for more information about the Dodge Dart recall. The automaker will start notifying the owners during December. The dealers will inspect the airbags and fix them, if necessary. It should be noted that the needed repairs will be carried out at no charge to the owners.
