According to a report made by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), nearly 28,000 crossovers are affected by Ford Edge recall. Affected vehicles are all of 2012 and 2013 model years and are all equipped with 2.0-lietr EcoBoost four-cylinder engines. Ford Edge cars were manufactured between September 2, 2010 and April 25, 2013.
The problem with the affected crossovers is that the metal housing on the fuel line pulse damper has been manufactured improperly and thus may malfunction and may crack leading to a fuel leak. This may potentially result in a fire.
The automaker will start notifying the affected owners about the Ford Edge recall next month. The dealers will replace the fuel line for free.
