2012 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Recall

Mercedes-Benz is recalling certain E-Class models.

An E-Class Recall has been announced by Mercedes-Benz recently. Affected are certain model-year 2012 E350 and E550 Coupe vehicles. The cars were built between April 2, 2012 and June 29, 2012.

The Problem

The problem with the aforementioned vehicles is that the stitching on the side curtain airbag may have not done correctly. This may cause the airbag to deploy properly during a crash. Thus, if a collision happens, the airbag may either fail to deploy or it may deflate more quickly than usual due to the defect. It should be noted that the passengers sitting on the right side of the vehicle may be more under risk than the others.

The Fix

The automaker is expected to start sending recall notification letters on December 21, 2013. Mercedes-Benz E-Class recall will be carried out free of charge. The owners can take their cars to the dealerships and the dealers will replace the faulty right side window curtain airbags. If you are a 2012 E-Class owner, you can contact the automaker at (800) 367-6372 for more information. Moreover, if you have got a defective vehicle and you think you need legal help, you can contact the Law Offices of Hovanes Margarian for comprehensive case evaluation and further legal assistance.
