According to a report made by the National HIghway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), BMW of North America is recalling 50,184 motorbikes in the United States. The motorbikes affected by the BMW Motorcycle recall are of 2005-2012 model years. Affected are R-model, K-model, S 1000 and HP2 motorbikes. Following is the complete list of the affected models:

The problem with the affected motorcycles is that the fuel pump flange may crack and leak fuel. This is a potential fire hazard. The automaker will notify the affected owners in February, 2014. The dealers will either replace the pump or reinforce the fuel pump flange free of charge.
