Shopping for a truck does not have to mean sacrificing comfort for performance. When configured with upgraded features, some of the most reliable pickups are also the best luxury trucks. So, before you resign yourself to a truck that is all work and no play, consider these optional trim packages that can bring a little opulence to your new vehicle.

Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn
The first of the best luxury trucks is the Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn, with a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $44,585. The standard Ram 1500, named MotorTrend's 2013 Truck of the Year, has a 4.7-liter eight-cylinder engine with 310 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque. But, with the Laramie Longhorn trim, the standard Ram 1500 engine is upgraded to a 5.7-liter eight-cylinder HEMI engine with 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque. With fuel-saver technology, the Laramie Longhorn could reach an estimated fuel economy of 14 miles per gallon (mpg) in the city and 20 mpg on the highway. In addition, the Laramie Longhorn offers a real-wood-accented interior, premium all-leather seats, dual-zone climate control, a remote-start system, a rear-parking-assistance system and a 7-inch display.

GMC Sierra Denali
From GMC trucks, the luxury Denali trim is available on the Sierra 1500, Sierra 2500HD and Sierra 3500HD models. Starting at $46,430, its first notable upgrade is the leather-appointed, power-adjustable, bucket seats that are both heated and cooled. Beyond seating changes is the inclusion of Bose premium speakers, dual-zone climate control, a rear-vision camera and a remote starter system. For performance, the Sierra 1500 Denali has a 6.2-liter eight-cylinder Vortec engine capable of 403 horsepower, 417 pound-feet of torque and a fuel economy of 13 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway. On the other hand, the Sierra 2500HD and Sierra 3500HD, both heavy-duty vehicles, have 6.6-liter eight-cylinder Duramax diesel engines with 397 horsepower and 765 pound-feet of torque.

Chevy Silverado High Country
If you prefer a Chevrolet and do not require a 2013 model, the 2014 Silverado High Country is another of the best luxury trucks. This new trim level includes leather bucket seats perforated for heating and cooling, Bose premium speakers, integrated trailer-brake controls, an entertainment system for the rear seat, sunroof and navigation. In addition, its standard 5.3-liter, eight-cylinder EcoTec3 engine with 355 horsepower, which has an estimated fuel economy of 23 miles per gallon (mpg) on the highway, can be upgraded to a larger 6.2-liter engine.
