The BMW 1 M Coupe with COR Wheels and Custom Tuning

The BMW 1 Series M Coupe may be the spiritual successor to the E30 M3, but one German company is taking it a step further with new engine tuning, COR Wheels, exterior styling, and more!

When BMW introduced the 1 Series M Coupe to the world, it was met with a pretty warm reception. That is, until people found out that it was going to be a limited edition model. Due to the sales success, that has since been lifted, however. The smallest M model in the lineup offers a great deal of sport and performance in a more affordable and exciting package compared to other cars like the M3 and M5. Its compact dimensions and powerful engine make it more nimble and exciting to drive than some of its other siblings, and enthusiasts have bought them up in response. One aftermarket company in German wanted to take the BMW 1 Series M Coupe to the next level of performance and style so they created an entirely new upgrade kit for customers that includes a new set of engine modifications, lightweight COR Wheels, a tuned suspension, and other styling aspects.

The first thing that the German aftermarket tuning company undertook with the BMW 1 Series M Coupe was the exterior design. Here, the car began with its orange metallic paint. But, the team of designers wanted to make it more unique so they contacting a wrapping specialist who put a striking grey wrap on the entire sports car with custom logos and three dimensional design effect. The only part left uncovered by the wrap other than the windows was the rear carbon fiber diffuser that sits behind the lightweight forged COR Wheels.

After the exterior wrap was installed, the team then got to work on the BMW 1 Series M Coupe’s stance. The team wanted to give the sports car a more aggressive setup that showed off its power so they opted for forged COR Wheels made from one-piece aluminum alloy. The wheels were installed in a staggered setup that measures 8.5 x 18 up front and 9.5 x 19 at the rear along with high performance Michelin tires. The COR Wheels were also given a special sky blue finish so that they stand out even more from the exterior color of the sports car.

After the exterior and styling of the BMW 1 Series M Coupe was finished, the team shifted their focus to the engine. The twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter N54 inline-six engine was given a light set of basic upgrades to reliably create better performance. The team installed a new air intake system, stainless steel exhaust, and an ECU tune. The aforementioned upgrades result in a total of 395 horsepower and 413 lb-ft. of torque being sent to each of the rear COR Wheels, helping the 1 M Coupe reach a top speed of 190 mph.
