The Nissan GT-R Midnight Opal with Forged Wheels and More

The Nissan GT-R Midnight Opal Edition is here with a limited run of 100 vehicles. The super car sports new RAYS forged wheels, shimmering paint, and other exclusive accessories.

The Nissan GT-R R35 made quite a splash when it came to the market and was boasting all sorts of performance records on the Nurburgring and other race tracks, along with an incredible 0-60 mph time. All this time, the Nissan GT-R had a sub-$100,000 price tag, which made it one of the most affordable super cars on the market. Fast forward a few years later to today, and the GT-R is still a sub-$100k super car but Nissan is pushing the six-figure price tag with the new GT-R Midnight Opal special edition model that sports all sorts of new and exciting upgrades with a limited run of only 100 cars worldwide. The new special edition features new forged wheels, carbon fiber accessories, special interior aspects, and more to make it even more exclusive as a high performance automobile.

The most striking aspect of the new Nissan GT-R special edition model is the Midnight Opal paint that it is named after. The new paint is hand applied by Nissan factory specialists and brings a deep black and deep purple color together for a brilliant color. Bystanders can view either the black or purple color based on the angle and light reflection hitting the car when they are by it, giving the car a unique color scheme. The new Midnight Opal paint is worn by the entire exterior except for the new forged wheels, lights, and other accessories.

In addition to the new paint, the special edition Nissan GT-R is characterized by a number of different accessories both inside and out. A new carbon fiber set of RAYS forged wheels are worn by the super car but this time feature a new hyper titanium coating finish that is offered in the United States for the first time by the Japanese automaker. The rear of the GT-R features a new dry carbon fiber spoiler that is similar to the ones found on the Nissan GT-R Black and Track editions, and helps to create enough downforce to positively affect high speed stability.

While the 3.8 liter, twin-turbocharged V-6 engine sends a total of 45 horsepower and 463 lb-ft. of torque to all four of the lightweight RAYS forged wheels, a special limited edition plaque with information about the engine is worn beneath the hood to showcase the car’s craftsmanship and exclusivity.

Inside, Nissan gave customers some special accessories. A new set of sculpted performance seats provide a generous amount of support and a precise instrument display reports relevant information to the driver at all times. A new specially made BOSE sound system provides all the entertainment occupants will ever need.
