Ford Focus: Modifications To Consider

Have you ever wandered what to do with that plain old Ford of yours? Here we look at some of the additional features you could opt for.

The first of these bog standard vehicles began rolling out into the streets in 1998 and have since taken the world into the palms of its hands. They don’t really have a specific target market, thus they have become popular with people of all creeds and colours.  Some people are happy to leave it as it left the factory, but others like to do some customising and tweaks to either make the car look better, or to enhance the cars performance. Here we take a quick look at some of the more common additions you could opt for.

Body Kits

A Ford Focus is not the most beautiful car in the market. However it doesn’t take too much to give your vehicle a bit more personality. You can, if you like, go all out and get a full body kit or an alternative option would be to get certain parts to give a slightly more understated but still noticeable change. You can buy several kits online but knowing where to go is key as some cheap and cheerful kits promise a lot more than they deliver. Mad Motors provides several kits for a whole range of makes and models, including the Focus.

Brakes

This is a majorly important part of any vehicle, and it’s vital to make sure they the ones you have work as well as they should. You can get them tested at several garages up and down the country for a reasonable fee. You can find brake pads at almost any auto shop, and many garages. You can also find pads online on sites like Euro Car Parts. You do need to buy brand new ones as second hand is a no go when it comes to brakes, but when treated with care they can last you a good while.

Exhausts

When it comes to exhausts there are a few things that you need to keep in the back of your mind. The first thing you’ll need to be aware of is your emissions as some exhausts are better for the environment than others. You will also need to consider the noise levels of different exhaust styles. Again most garages and car shops will be able to provide them, depending on the make and model. Your best bet when shopping online is to head to Ebay as they will definitely have what you need.

Tyres

These bad boys can make all the difference when it comes to your cars performance. Tyres not only change with the seasons, but they can help with handling and even fuel economy. If your tread is getting a bit low, or the handling isn’t all that then it would be wise to consider a nice new set of tyres. There are several brands out there including Firestone and Good Year, and there are plenty of garages that have them to hand. However, you may need to order them in advance in case they don’t have them in.

All Things Engine

Your engine is the one thing that keeps you going, so you need to take extra care of it. Many people like to add things on and around the engine bay to help with the performance, but also to give them a little more speed for the weekend. It can be anything from a new cooling fan to a shiny new crank shaft. You may also need to replace the fan belt a few times. Burton Power has everything you could imagine all in one place, and cater to several makes and models.
