The SUV has come up with a new third row of the seat that is not very spacious but should be enough to accommodate kids. And the downside of the vehicle being that it is a little overpriced.

2017 BMW X5 is the latest model of BMW sports car that comes in the category of SUV as its capability is equivalent to Porsche Cayenne and Mercedes-Benz E-class. There are various ranges of drivelines and powertrains, and the version 5.0 is present in the iDrive infotainment system after up gradation. Performance and Mileage

The BMW X5 offers a very high-performance level with the advanced technology six-cylinder turbocharged engines. The xDrive35i and sDrive35i deliver 300 horsepower and 300-pound feet of torque and have eight-speed automatic transmission along with hill descent control. 

The xDrive40e, the new 2016 has a four cylinder 2.0-liter plug-in hybrid engine that delivers 308 horsepower and a torque of 332-pound feet. The xDrive40e is accompanied with a 9 kilowatt per hour battery pack that can go up to an estimated 13 miles.

2017 BMW X5 has five different power units including twin turbo V8 engine having the strength of 445 or 567 hp. 

The xDrive50i, topping the list, is fuelled by a 4.4 liter turbocharged engine that produces 445 horsepower and 480-pound feet of torque. The fuel economy factor of the BMW X5 is not very promising, though, compared to the enormous power being rendered by it.

Plush Interiors and High Range of Features

The SUV is well spaced to meet the everyday driving needs of a family along with plush designed interiors that also offer a good comfort level to the passengers and the driver as well. The automatic climate control, Bluetooth connectivity, smartphone app and a lot more features are included in the X5 that makes the driving experience a pleasurable one.

Safety

All the safety mechanism have been included in the X5 that has made it earn a fair amount of score. The necessary safety features include the airbags, antilock brakes, automatic brake drying, traction control and active head restraints. There are several other automatic safety alert systems installed in the vehicle.

Verdict

The BMW X5 is an excellent choice for the crossover SUV, as it performs well in all levels from comfort to long drives with its powerful engines. The only downside is that the third row has space only for the kids. However, the styling and features are an extra boon to the owner as the BMW has integrated a wide range of features in the X5 series.
