Ford Transit Connect recall

Ford Transit Connect recall affects approximately 370 model-year 2014 Ford Transit Connect vans that were manufactured between March 1, 2014, and May 15, 2014.

The problem affecting these vehicles is that they may have a brake reservoir cap that lacks the necessary text advising owners which brake fluid the vehicle uses. If this is true with any of the affected vans, the brake system seals may get damaged and the brake fluid may leak. If this situation occurs, it may lengthen the stopping distances and may poser hazards of a collision.

Ford owners were notified on July 14, 2014. The dealers will inspect all the affected vehicles and replace the brake reservoir cap with a new one free of charge. Concerned owners may contact the automaker at 800-392-3673 for more information about the recall.
