2015 Ford Transit

Ford Motor Company announced about a new recall affecting model-year 2015 Ford Transit and Transit Cargo van vehicles. Affected are nearly 2,000 units.

The problem with Ford Transit vehicles is that brake fluid leak may occur at the joint between the rear brake hose and the brake caliper. In this case, a red warning light will be seen in the instrument cluster. Stopping distances may be increased due to the problem, resulting in potential crashes. Affected Ford Transit vans are 1,300 in number.

The automaker also recalls Transit cargo vans. Affected are nearly 600 units. The problem is connected with windowless sliding doors that may unlatch during side-impact collisions, increasing the risk of injuries and even fatalities. It should be noted that the automaker is not aware of any crashes or injuries due to the defects.

Ford has not yet provided an owner notification schedule. Affected owners will be notified soon and the dealers will inspect the fix the vehicles at no charge to the owners. Owners may contact Ford at 866-436-7332 for more information about the recalls.
