Land Rover LR2 from model-years 2010-2015 and Range Rover Evoque from model-years 2012-2013 are affected by a new recall. Involved in the recall are nearly 41,000 vehicles.
The problem with the affected vehicles is that a component in the occupant classification system electronic control unit may malfunction, making the front passenger airbag malfunction as well. As a result of the problem, the airbag may not even deploy, if necessary, increasing the risk of injuries during a crash.
The automaker will start notifying affected owners about the recall on August 30. The dealers will repair all the affected vehicles. All the repairs will be carried out free of charge. Concerned owners may contact the automaker at 800-637-6837 for more information about the recall.
