Chevrolet Impala recall affects more than 15,000 vehicles. Involved in this recall are model-years 2014-2015 Chevrolet Impala LT and LTZ sedans. The affected vehicles are equipped with a front console storage compartment.
The problem with the affected vehicles is that the front console compartment door may open just because the inertia latch may not engage during a rear crash. The automaker says it does not know about any injuries or accidents related to the issue. A stop-sale order has been made on the unsold models.
General Motors has not yet announced a recall notification schedule. However, owners will be notified about the recall soon. Dealers will replace the defective parts free of charge for the affected owners. Concerned owner may contact Chevrolet at 800-222-1020 for more information about Chevrolet Impala recall.
