NHTSA investigates Evenflo and Graco

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) investigates Evenflo and Graco child car seats for potential problems with the buckles. Parents and other owners of Evenflo car seats say that they are unable to open the buckles in these car seats.

These are the same buckles due to which an Evenflo recall was carried out in April of this year, affecting nearly 1,368,650 car seats. Besides, the same issue affects nearly 6 million Graco child seats.

The number of seats affected by the recall is not known yet. It should be noted that federal investigators have already received nearly 18 complaints connected with this defect. The thing is that if the buckles do not unlock, the parents will not be able to take children out of the vehicles during emergency situations.

More than 6000 complaints have been received by Graco owners. In some of the cases, parents had to call emergency in order to remove children from the child seats.

Thus, the NHTSA investigates Evenflo and Graco child car seat buckles and will  provide us with further details, soon.
