Takata Airbag Issue: Mercedes Vehicles affected

The Takata airbag issue this time affects Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
Takata airbag issue

The Takata airbag issue this time affects Mercedes-Benz vehicles. The company has announced a small recall affecting model-year 2014 SLK and SL-Class roadsters. The recall is a voluntary one and involves nearly 300 vehicles. 200 of the affected vehicles are already in the hands of the consumers. The affected vehicles were manufactured between March and April, 2014.

The problem is connected with the subcontractors by Takata Company. Some fasteners have not been installed properly. This may cause the airbag to not function correctly. The problem was found during a production test. The automaker has not received any reports of crashes or injuries due to the defect.

Mercedes has informed the owners of the affected cars about the recall. I will update this story as soon as more information is available.
