Acura ILX, ILX Hybrid recall affects nearly 14,100 vehicles. Affected are model-year 2013 Acura ILX and ILX Hybrids cars, as well as model-year 2014 ILX Hybrids. Acura ILX sedans were built between January 16, 2012, and March 1, 2013. The defect that caused these models to be recalled is that the headlight bulb and the reflector unit may be faulty. The fault may cause smoke and even fire. The driver's visibility may get worse due to the defect, increasing the risk of a collision and injuries.

All the affected owners will be contacted by the automaker on July 28, 2014. The dealers will replace the headlights free of charge. If you are an Acura owner, you can contact the automaker at 800-862-2872 for more information about the recall.
