Brabus Gives the Mercedes-Benz GLA 3 Piece Wheels and Engine Tunes

The Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class may be a fresh, new CUV on the market, but Brabus has all the right upgrades for the new model. Everything from 3 piece wheels to engine tuning is available.

One of the biggest trends in the automotive industry today is the small crossover utility vehicle aka the CUV. The new small luxury crossover utility vehicle marketplace has been heating up due to their relatively lower sale price, greater fuel efficiency, and utility compared to bigger traditional SUV models. Some see this as a trade off, but others see it as the perfect vehicle, even when compared to cars. The new Mercedes-Benz GLA fits perfectly into this segment and looks to become a leader in terms of sales and product amongst the competition from Audi, Acura, BMW, and others. To give them a leg up on the competition, Brabus has designed and developed an entirely new aftermarket upgrade program that features a range of options for the GLA-Class. The new Mercedes-Benz model can benefit from everything like new 3 piece wheels, body work, engine tuning, and more.

The body of the Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class may not change dramatically but it has a more aggressive and sporty personality with the new Brabus upgrades. The front fascia benefits from a new underride guard for the off roaders, and air inlet attachments. Between the new 3 piece wheels sit LED undercar lighting that activates when a button is pressed of the door handles are grabbed. At the rear sits a new hatch spoiler for better downforce and bumper insert with integrated exhaust cutouts.

Part of the exterior transformation comes with the new choice of suspension and the 3 piece wheels. The suspension can be tailored to either off roading or performance driving. The former can be aided with a new setup that raises the ride height while the latter comes from a set of sport springs that lower the suspension for a better center of gravity. The factory rims were swapped out for new 3 piece wheels that measure 9.0J x 20 and wear 255/30 R 21 YOKOHAMA tires for added grip in a variety of situations.

The high performance GLA 45 AMG model already comes with a potent engine, but Brabus was able to crank out even more power from the 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four cylinder engine. The motor was equipped with a new BRABUS PowerXtra CGI B45 tuning module that sits inside the engine bay and piggybacks on the factory ECU system. The software optimizes a number of parameters and allows the engine to send a total of 394 bhp and 500 Nm of torque to all four 3 piece wheels. This also sends the GLA 45 AMG to 62 mph in just 4.4 seconds and to a top speed of 168 mph.
