Genaral Motors is this time recalling Chevrolet Malibu and Buick LaCrosse vehicles. Both vehicles are from 2014 model year. The recall affects nearly 8,208 vehicles due to a problem with the front brake assembly.
The thing is that rear brake rotors have been installed in the front brake assembly. This mixed position may cause reduced brake pressure and will make the pads wear down unevenly.
It should be noted that only 1,700 of the affected vehicles have been sold out by the dealers. The rest of the affected cars are still in the dealerships.
Besides, according to the automaker, only a very small percentage of vehicles may have the wrong rotors on. On May 1 a stop order has been issued on Chevrolet Malibu and Buick LaCrosse until the problem is fixed.Owners with questions may contact Buick at 800-521-7300 and Chevrolet at 800-222-1020 for more information.
