It is now known about Chrysler replacing transmissions on model-year 2014 Ram 1500 vehicles. Affected are only 159 vehicles. These vehicles were manufactured within 12 days between late January and February this year.
The problem with the affected vehicles is that a small shipment of gearboxes might have problems when shifting into Park. The automaker said it is unaware of any collisions or injuries due to the defect. However, all the owners of model-year 2014 Ram 1500s are being encouraged by the automaker to bring their vehicles to the dealerships for free inspections and repairs. The dealers may replace the entire transmission in the affected vehicles, if necessary.
It should be noted that of those 159 vehicles, only 125 are in the United States, another 32 are in Canada and two are outside the NAFTA region.
Owners with questions may contact the automaker at 1-800-853-1403 for more information.
