Saturn Aura recall affects nearly 56,214 vehicles from 2007-2008 model years. The affected Saturn Aura sedans were built between April 24, 2006, and October 31, 2007. All the affected cars are equipped with four-speed automatic transmissions.
The problem with the aforementioned vehicles is that the transmission shift cable may fracture break during the drive and while trying to stop the vehicle, the driver may not be able to shift the lever to the Part position. If the car is not in this position, then it may roll away increasing the risk of accidents and injuries.
General Motors has not yet provided an owner notification schedule, but it will notify owners of the affected vehicles soon. Dealers will inspect the automobiles and will shift cable assemblies and mounting brackets, if necessary. All the repairs will be performed free of charge.
Concerned owners can call General Motors at 800-553-6000 for more information about Saturn Aura recall.
