Volkswagen recall

Volkswagen voluntary recall affects nearly 26,452 vehicles. The affected cars are all of 2014 model year equipped with a 1.8-liter turbo engine and torque converter automatic transmission. Affected are the following cars:

  • Volkswagen Passat
  • Volkswagen Jetta
  • Volkswagen Beetle
  • Volkswagen Beetle Convertible

The problem with the aforementioned vehicles is that the O-ring seals that are between the oil cooler and transmission may leak fluid. If the leaked fluid contacts hot surface it may result in a fire. However, according to the automaker, no accidents or injuries are related to this problem.

The automaker has already started notifying the affected owners about the recall. Dealers will replace the O-ring at no charge to the owners.
