Mazda3, Mazda6 recall

Nearly 5.700 vehicles are affected by Mazda3, Mazda6 recall. Affected are the following models:

  • Model-year 2014 Mazda3 compact cars
  • Model-year 2014-2015 Mazda6 midsize sedans

The aforementioned vehicles are equipped with 2.5-liter engine and a regenerative braking system. It should be noted that affected are Mazda3 cars manufactured between June 12 and December 18, 2013 and Mazda6 cars manufactured between May 20 and December 4, 2013.

The problem with the vehicles is that the alternator belt may slip and send a false message to the power control module if the vehicle is being driven in rain. As a result of this, loss of power steering assist may occur increasing the risk of a crash.

Mazda will notify all affected owners this month. The dealers will reprogram the power control module free of charge. If you are a Mazda owner and you want to learn more about Mazda3, Mazda6 recall, you can contact the automaker at 800-222-5500.
