Mazda Tribute Recall

Mazda Tribute recall affects nearly 109,000 Tribute vehicles of 2001-2004 model years. The thing is that on these trucks, the subframe may rust due to the road salt. As a result of this, the vehicle’s steering control may get damaged and loss of vehicle steering may occur.

The recall involves vehicles originally sold or registered in 20 northern states and Washington DC. It should be noted that road salt is used in these states of the United States.

Mazda will add a reinforcement crossbrace for added strength on the vehicles affected by Mazda Tribute recall. However, the reinforcement braces are not yet available. The automaker will notify the owners preliminarily in May. Then the owners of the affected vehicles will be contacted for the second time as soon as the reinforcement braces are available.

If you suspect that your vehicle’s subframe is damaged, you can bring your car to the dealership and have the vehicle inspected by the dealer. After the inspection is carried out, you will be told that either the vehicle is safe to drive or it is defective. If the car turns out to be defective, you should wait until the repair materials are available. You can contact the automaker at 1-800-222-5500 for more information about the recall.
