Volkswagen Passat recall affects model-years 2012-2013 Volkswagen Passat vehicles due to headlight failure. The thing is that last May Volkswagen became aware about a problem connected with its North American mid-size sedan.
The problem is that in more than 150,000 vehicles manufactured between the years 2012 and 2013, the low beam headlight bulb could come loose. If this happens, the low beams may fail to work.
According to the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration), no reports of crashes or injuries have been received due to the issue.
Volkswagen will start notifying the affected owners and encouraging them to bring their vehicles to the dealerships for repairs. The dealers will install an improved light bulb fitting to the affected cars. The recall will start in May, 2014.
