Baby Trend car seat recall affects nearly 16,655 child-safety seats manufactured between October 2011 and July 2013. Affected are Baby Trend Trendz Fastback 3-in-1 child-safety seats. Models involved in the recall are: FB60070 (Granite) and FB60408 (Jellybean).
The problem with the aforementioned child-safety car seats is that when this car seat is used with its five-point harness, it may become hard to unlatch the harness buckle. If the buckle gets stuck in one position, it may be rather difficult for the parents to remove children from the seats during an emergency situation. This may increase the risk of injuries.
Replacement buckles will be available soon and the manufacturer will provide registered owners with free repairs. However, it should be noted that the car seat manufacturer has not yet provided the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) with an owner notification schedule. You can contact the manufacturer at 888-327-4236 for more information about Baby Trend car seat recall.
