Ford recall this time affects nearly 434,000 vehicles of different model years. Two separate issues affect Ford vehicles. In the first recall affected are nearly 385,750 model years 2001-2004 Ford Escape vehicles. Cars driven in Midwest, Northeast and Canada are affected because the vehicles’ subframe may rust partially due to the salty roads in these areas.

There has been one crash due to the problem, however no injuries occurred. The dealers will install a reinforcement cross brace on the frame to make it stronger.

The second recall involves nearly 48,950 vehicles. 42,972 of the vehicles are in the US and 4,744 in Canada. Affected are model-years 2013-2014 Ford Fusion, Escape, C-Max and Lincoln MKZ vehicles. The problem in these vehicles is that welds in their seatbacks do not comply with the federal standards. The problem affects the front seats, and the sub-standard welds that connect the seatback with the recliner may increase the risk of an accident.

It should be noted that no injuries or accidents have been reported due to the problem. The automaker has not yet announced a notification schedule. If you want to learn more about Ford recall, you can call Ford at 866-436-7332.
