Mazda6 recall

Mazda6 recall affects nearly 42,000 cars. All the affected vehicles are mid-size sedans of 2010-2012 model years. The cars were manufactured between September 14, 2009 and May 2, 2011. The affected cars are all equipped with 2.5-liter engines.

The thing is that spiders may weave a web in the evaporative canister vent hose. The web may block it and cause a high amount of pressure on the fuel tank. As a result of this, the tank may get damaged and may leak fuel which may result in a fire, accordingly.

The same problem connected with the spiders also led to a recall in 2011. Nearly 52,000 vehicles were involved in that recall at that time.

Mazda owners will get notified this month. The dealers will reprogram the powertrain control module. If the dealers find out that there are spiders’ webs in the canister vent lines, they will replace those lines. All the repairs will be performed at no charge to the owners.
