Honda is recalling nearly 886,815 model year 2005-2010 Honda Odyssey minivans due to fire risk. The affected vehicles were manufactured between June 23, 2004, and Sept. 4, 2010. The problem with the affected vehicles is that the fuel pump strainer may deteriorate and leak fuel. A fire may occur as a result of that. However, according to the automaker, no reports of fires or damages have been reported.
Honda will notify the affected owners in April, this year. However, the manufacturer told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that the components needed to fix the minivans will be ready during summer, 2014.
Honda Odyssey owners can contact the dealers to get an interim replacement cover until the other material is ready. If you are a Honda owner, you can contact the automaker at 800-999-1009 for more information about the recall.
