From  Skoda, we heard  that the new Octavia is designed to set new standards in its class, and compared to the previous model it highlights the new body mask, sleeker roof line and chamfered rear. Clearly, the basic designs of previous forms of the model are retained, but they are obviously reworked.

What is new?

The most interesting is that this time Octavia is even more out of the box because of the compact class as much as 90 mm longer than the previous model, and it is also 45 mm wider. Most important of all is that the wheelbase has grown by 108 mm, the new Octavia will definitely keep it in the top of the space and practicality.

New Octavia Design

Very stylish and modest design continues inside. As you might expect everything is subordinated to functionality and clarity, and the environment is pretty well known though is completely new. Pleasant detail is a new three-spoke steering wheel, until now, dominated and somewhat sharper lines, just like the exterior. Manufacturer promise  significantly  comfortable and higher-quality materials but one of the biggest news and highlights is the modern infotainment system with a large touch screen, which has apparently become an element that is inevitable for any new model, no matter which class it belongs.

With an exceptionally spacious cabin, all those who are attracted to the convenience of Octavia, they will be more attracted to her trunk. Although she gained the reputation of one of the most powerful cars in its class due to the large tailgate, which is easy to use because of the large rear hatch, this time Skoda gone to a step further by offering a new Octavia with even 590 liters of luggage space.

Powerfull Performance

The engine range for the new Octavia is composed of nine modern gasoline and diesel. More specifically, has been offered four petrol, four diesel engines and an engine that is powered by natural gas. For now, Skoda is not presented in detail all the engines, but it’s confirmed that they will be offered a 1.8 TSI with 179 hp, which will be designed for those who want good performance, while for those who want to economize fuel primarily be offered a 1.6 TDI with 110 hp. For this engine, Skoda promises an average fuel consumption of just 3.4 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of just 89 g / km.

Regardless of the choice of the engine, Octavia will be able to order the manual transmission or the popular DSG automated gearbox with double clutch. Of course, all models come with front-wheel drive, and will be on the list of options and all-wheel drive.

Details on pricing and equipment will be announced later, precisely midway through the first months of next year.
