The Porsche Panamera GTS by Maria Sharapova with Forged Wheels and New Design

Famous tennis star, Maria Sharapova, has worked with Porsche to create an all-new Panamera GTS model at the start of the Winter Olympics. The car has new forged wheels, design cues, and other goodies.

The 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia have just started and countries from all across the globe are competing for the gold medal. Much controversy and criticism has come from journalists and athletes staying inside the city due to the poor conditions, lack of completed work, and haphazard construction in the relatively poor areas. Maria Sharapova is one Russian who is proud to call Sochi her hometown. Although she wasn’t born there, she spent much of her childhood growing up in Sochi. Now, the world-famous tennis star partnered with Porsche as a Brand Ambassador to create a new Porsche Panamera GTS. The new Porsche Panamera GTS by Maria Sharapova includes a number of unique design elements that the famous athlete specified using the Porsche Exclusive program that includes new headlights, exterior upgrades, forged wheels, and an exclusive and luxurious interior.

The new Porsche Panamera GTS by Maria Sharapova showcases the wide range of possibilities that owners have at their disposal to create a customized and unique vehicle using Porsche’s own Exclusive program. Everything from aerodynamics, forged wheels, and lighting to custom colored leather, alcantara, and trim pieces can be installed at the owner’s wishes.

“Creating and specifying a very personal Porsche Panamera was such an exciting undertaking. It opens the door to a whole new design sensibility and allowed me to bring my own personal aesthetic. I count myself not only as an athlete, but also as a designer – I’ve designed full collections of luxury accessories, apparel, and even candy for years,” said Sharapova. “I never thought I would have the opportunity to add a car – especially a Porsche – to that repertoire. It’s an ingenious melding of the design world with automotive personalization.”

The basis for the unique model designed by Maria Sharapova is the sporty Porsche Panamera GTS. The athletic sports grand coupe features a 4.8-liter V-8 engine that has been tuned for performance and sends a total of 430 horsepower and 383 lb-ft. of torque to each of the rear forged wheels. This allows the four door coupe to reach 62 mph in 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 178 mph.

The exterior of the Porsche Panamera GTS by Maria Sharapova wears a clean white coat of paint that is contrasted by high gloss black elements throughout the front fasica, side, and rear bumper. The lighting is more powerful thanks to the LED Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS+) and tinted LED taillights with a set of matching black tailpipes sitting beneath. The new 20-inch forged wheels also wear a high gloss black finish to contrast the white paint.

Inside, the cabin was outfitted with a new leather trim and crème stitching. The carbon fiber side sills bear Maria Sharapova’s name while the Panamera GTS logo sits on the armrest and Porsche crests are embossed in the headrests at the front and rear.
